Tournament Format & On-Course Games

Everything you need to know about how the day plays out.

4-Person Scramble

The tournament is played as a 4-person scramble — the most team-friendly format in golf. Every player on the team hits their shot, the team selects the best one, and everyone plays their next shot from that spot. This continues until the ball is holed.

This format makes the day fun and accessible for golfers of all skill levels. Teams are encouraged to bring their own foursome, but individual players are welcome and will be paired with others to complete a team. There's no handicap requirement — just show up ready to have a great time.

On-Course Contests

Throughout the round, you'll have chances to compete in individual challenges beyond the team score. Each contest is its own moment to shine.

Closest to the Pin

On select par 3s, every player gets their shot at glory. The player whose tee shot ends up closest to the flagstick wins. We'll run 2–4 of these throughout the round.

Straightest Drive

Accuracy off the tee wins here — not distance. On 1–2 designated holes, the drive that finishes closest to a marked center line takes the title. A reminder that course management matters.

Lower Power(ups)

Lower Power(ups) are your team's secret weapon on the course. Each kit comes loaded with mulligans and other creative advantages — little boosts that give you a few chances to shake off a bad shot, stay in the game, and keep the round moving.

Think of it as leveling up for a good cause. Every kit purchased puts more money directly toward multiple myeloma research, so the more power(ups) in play, the better.

Winning Team — Personalized Titleist Pro V1s

Each member of the first-place team takes home a dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls personalized for the Sam Lower Memorial tournament. A keepsake worth playing with.

Contest Winners — Bear Slide Pro Shop Credit

Winners of the Closest to the Pin and Straightest Drive contests each receive Bear Slide Golf Club pro shop credit — redeemable toward equipment, merchandise, or future rounds of golf at the course.
